OKIE News Release
Yosef Elkana, an agricultural Consultant from Israel, was brought to Oklahoma last May, on behalf of OKIE and the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture for a period of five days. The purpose of the visit was to bring and present to, and discuss with the Oklahoma agricultural community recent developments and innovations in Israeli agriculture which may be of relevance to Oklahoma’s industry. The emphasis was on such technologies that may potentially lead to future commercial and or scientific cooperation.
Yosef spent two full days at Oklahoma State University where, in addition to making a presentation, he held meetings with some of the University’s leading staff, various departmental staff, and visited several very impressive R&D facilities. Then, he had one full day in the Lake Altus irrigated area, hosted by the Southwest Research and Extension Center, where he toured farms and facilities, and made a presentation to invited industry people.
